Job Title: Mobile Outreach Representative

Essentials:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Excellent customer service skills are required.
Hours of operation, wages and benefits:
8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Wednesday thru Sunday
Full benefit package begins at the completion of 120 day trial period and includes holiday, sick leave and vacation pay.
Qualifications:
- Previous customer service experience required
- Must possess professionalism, courtesy, tact and sound judgment
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to multi task
- Able to work closely with animal dander/hair
- Able to handle chemicals and bleach
Nature of Work
This employee is responsible for regularly scheduled and special event outreach sites. If two or more sites are scheduled for the same date and time the Mobile Outreach Representative is required to enlist the help of the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and train volunteers. Knowledge gained through training and experience will be applied in accordance with Kitsap Humane Society policies and procedures. This position requires considerable independence and is under the supervision of the Operations Director/Kennel Manager.
Examples of Work
- Provides customer service to the public and represents the Humane Society in a professional manner.
- Coordinates, organizes and schedules outreach events.
- Trains, schedules and is responsible for volunteers at various events.
- Data entry of adoptions from outreach sites.
- Receives and balances monetary transactions.
- Transports animals to and from outreach sites.
- Provides counseling services to customers and licenses pets as appropriate.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Ability and Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable about breeds and their traits.
- Interviews and counsels individuals desiring to adopt animals according to KHS policies and procedures.
- Familiar with Kitsap County jurisdictions and licenses required.
- Valid Washington State Drivers License.
- Knowledgeable about the Kitsap Humane Society and its mission. Ability to represent the Humane Society in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to select, load and transport animals to and from outreach sites leaving the building by 10:00 and returning by 4:30.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean environment for the animals.
- Responsible for keeping outreach sites sanitized, clean and neat.
- Responsible for keeping the outreach van clean (inside and out) and reporting any problems to the Animal Control Supervisor. May be required to see that routine maintenance is taken care of.
