I, B. Duenas, have been an Animal Control/Humane Officer (Level-3) with Kitsap Animal Control since December of 1999. During that time I have received 640 hours of supervised on-the-job training in local and state animal control/welfare laws, animal care and health, breed recognition, aggressive animal handling, basic animal cruelty investigation, and was certified as a euthanasia technician. I have graduated from the Animal Control Officers Academy certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (80 hours). I have received training from the National Cruelty Investigation School (Level-I & Level-II) certified by the University of Missouri (Columbia) Law Enforcement Training Institute in conjunction with the American Humane Association (80 hours). Lastly, I have completed a course in Illegal Animal Fighting (#5415) certified by the Humane Society of the United States, and presented by the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney and the King County Prosecuting Attorney (8 hours). I entered the Animal Control field from a retail management/customer service position, and have served in the United States Marine Corps. |
